Item Description

Item Special Note
Jeff Friedman's '81 wife, Jan, is the artist of these beautiful hand painted items. She died on colon cancer in 2007 and he has been using her artwork to raise money for various charitable causes since then. Although Jan did not attend Antioch, she often wished that she had. They visited the campus about 10 years ago and Jan fell in love with the college, Glen Helen, and Yellow Springs. Jan Friedman was mostly self-taught. She painted off and on for many years, but never spent significant time painting until after cancer diagnosis. She was not able to continue working because of her treatments, but found that painting was a great way for her to focus her attention on the enjoyment of life.
