Item Description
"Buddha in the World" is the work of artist Carole Leslie, contributor to Buddhadharma: The Practitioner's Quarterly.
By way of introducing this piece and to better understand Carole's style there's this telling note on the profile page of her website: "Favorite Materials: paper, paper and paper, did I mention paper, torn paper, script papers, old books, weird bits, old newspaper, letter stamps, anything green, orange or magenta, especially paint."
Carole says: "This mixed media piece is meant to bring peace and tranquility to any living space. The work is done on a gallery wrapped canvas and ready to hang. It is textured with tissue paper and medium, and layers of acrylic paint. Hand-stamped Asian lettering completes the abstract and vibrantly coloured background. A modern treatment of a timeless theme."
