Item Description
"Kelly" accompanied a Winter 2009 Buddhadharma article by Thich Nhat Hanh entitled "Becoming Truly Alive". When art director Seth Levinson approached the dog's owner and photographer, Michelle Kerr, about using the photo Michelle gave an enthusiastic yes and provided unhesitating confirmation of Kelly's zest for living. And so taken were we with the photo's charm and appeal that we asked Michelle whether we could include it in this year's auction.
The article that the photograph accompanied was about loving life and Kelly was, appropriately enough, "that one special dog that comes around now and then" and exemplifies delight. "We used to play jokes on her, hiding ourselves or her stuff, and we just knew she 'got'
the joke."
Thank you Michelle, and thank you Kelly. And thank you Seth for finding it.
