Let the Bidding Begin at Art Bash 2019: Igniting The Radical Imagination!

Since 1996, Groundswell has created over 500 works of public art throughout New York City. Each year we engage with nearly 800 youth, 50 community organizations, and 40 artists to create approximately 50-70 large scale works of public art that explore critical social justice issues confronting our communities and our society at large. Groundswell’s annual benefit works to raise the necessary funds to curate these programs for our key stakeholders: youth, community members and artists.

On Sunday, October 21, 2018 Groundswell will host its annual benefit entitled Art Bash 2019 “Igniting the Radical Imagination” Artivism Brunch, Art Auction & Dance Party to celebrate 22 years of building community and activism through the mural creation process. We are excited to announce our Art Bash 2019 Honorees: Councilman Carlos Menchaca, the Ingersoll Garden of Eden Gardeners, The Stand For The Arts Initiative which is a partnership between Ovation TV and Charter Communications (Spectrum) and the founding members of Tats Cru. The afternoon will feature a family-style brunch and award ceremony celebrating change agents who have committed their life’s work to the idea of the radical imagination as well as a curated art auction with 50 pieces of art celebrating the benefit’s theme with a special performance by Black Women Artists for Black Lives Matter and music by DJ Daigoro.
