BJAFA is a 501(c)3 NPO based in Brooklyn run by volunteers. We provide Japanese and Japanese-American families residing in and around Brooklyn with sustained outreach programs that involve cultural and linguistic education. We also provide a space for families to gather in a supportive atmosphere as we navigate the ever-complicated times while raising our children. We are proud to say that our Saturday Japanese language school in Brooklyn is the east coast's first and only school that teaches Japanese as a heritage language and now boasts almost 100 students.
