Ocean Matters educates young people to develop the skills, knowledge, and convictions to be stewards of our threatened marine ecosystems. Through a three-week, academically rigorous, research project performed on scuba in an endangered marine ecosystem, young people (ages 16 to 18) help underfunded marine conservation agencies collect information vital to maintaining the health of our oceans, and in turn, help us to maintain our own health. We like to think of it as science education for a purpose.
