Annual Gala: A Celebration of Arts & Education
The annual SOPAC gala on Saturday, May 30, will feature a performance of one of Broadway’s most acclaimed leading men, Brian Stokes Mitchell, in an evening of celebration capping the success of the 2014-15 season. Arts in Education will be highlighted as SOPAC Board of Governor’s member Johanna Wright along with Fred Profetta and Paul Profetta are honored for their dedication to making arts opportunities available for young people in the South Orange/Maplewood school district.
Festivities begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction that will take place throughout the building. Cocktails, elaborate passed hors d'oeuvres and ample opportunity to meet-and-greet friends will be enjoyed by guests as they peruse the silent auction items and place bids on the most enticing.
Tony Award-winning Brian Stokes Mitchell has long enjoyed status as one Broadway’s superstars along with his featured roles on television in Trapper John, MD, Frasier, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and more. His powerful baritone will fill the theatre in an unforgettable evening of song. Immediately following the performance the awards will be presented to the honorees. The celebration continues with dessert and dancing in the Loft.
Valet parking will be available and festive attire is encouraged.
