Item Description
Mahakala is a so-called wrathful deity. Chogyam Trungpa has called this an iconographic representation of anger without hatred and also a manifestation of confused thoughts that have become naked. His three eyes stare in all directions. He holds a hooked knife in his right hand representing cutting off the root of hatred, and a skull cup of blood in his right, representing the transformation of neurosis into the elixir of enlightenment. He dances on the corpse of ego.
