Item Description
Tara represents the dynamic aspects of Avalokitéshvara, compassion for the suffering of sentient beings. In Buddhism, it is believed that suffering comes from viewing the world as a split between I and other. When we see things beyond our dualistic projects we see reality, things ‘as it is.’ Tara represents the opportunities for waking up from this matrix of self-absorption and those opportunities are called ‘compassion.’ In Tibetan she is called “Drolma” which means liberated, mother. Bringing liberation with the compassion of a mother.
