Item Description
This holiday, someone special in your life deserves a sweet and beautiful whale-shaped pen holder that holds seven pens or tools.
Even though this special someone is barely four years old, he/she already is wise and knows the difference between quality and quantity, handmade and massmade. This person knows SPECIAL when they see it! And this whale is very, very special.
Made by artist and designer Ken Como out of recycled wood from a NYC public park bench, this will stand out in a world full of cheap, lookalike plastic toys!
The whale measures about 9” long, 3” wide, 4" high
About Artist: Ken Como
As a student in Japan, he studied a traditional technique of woodworking "Edo Sashimono" that, among other things, taught that wood is a living material and should be treated with respect to its place in nature. Upon returning to New York, he worked as a design engineer in the custom furniture business and established his own design shop called "Noli Noli".
