Item Description
Col d'Orcia is the internationally celebrated producer of one of Italy's most revered red wines, Brunello di Montalcino. Situated on the outskirts of the medieval hilltop village of Montalcino in Tuscany's Siena province, the estate has a rich winemaking history that dates back to the 1700's. In the hands of the Cinzano family since 1973, Col d'Orcia is owned today by Count Francesco Marone Cinzano, with day-to-day operations directed by Edoardo Virano.
Winemaker's notes: Deep ruby red color. Complex and fresh on the nose, with inviting fruit aromas balanced by oak-imparted spices. Well-structured and full-bodied, with fine tannins that promise great aging capacity; long and impressive finish.
Wine Spectator - "This smells like beef bouillon, picking up pure cherry and plum fruit on the palate, along with savory elements. Lean, with well-integrated tannins and a long, meaty finish of tobacco and earth. Best from 2018 through 2030."
Vinous / Antonio Galloni - "Col d'Orcia's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Vendemmia is all finesse. Sweet floral and spiced notes open up in the glass, followed by veins of bright red stone fruits. Hints of orange peel and white pepper add an attractive, beguiling upper register of aromatics."
