Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, retail value $80.00

Napa Valley, California

Definitely one for hedonists seeking immediate gratification. This wine has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe, velvety tannins. It springs from the glass with lifted crème de cassis, violets and chocolate box notes plus hints of lilacs, raspberry leaves, anise and cardamom. The perfumed black fruit preserves and chocolate-laced notes pack the full-bodied palate with soft, velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing very long and very spicy. Rating: 94+ pts (Robert Parker)

Courtney Benham Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014, retail value $25.00

Napa Valley, California

This is an extraordinary deal for a solidly built, high-level wine. It offers succulent cherry, raspberry and vanilla flavors, wrapped in approachable, mellowed tannin and oak. Rating: 90 pts (Wine Enthusiast)

Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, retail value $25.00

Napa Valley, California

Elegant and concentrated aromas of black currant, ripe loganberry, ripe fig, and mocha tones with some mild, warm spice notes in the background. This wine is full-bodied with a strong mouthfeel and approachable tannins. Pair it with port braised beef short ribs topped with mint leaves. Rating: 90 pts (Wilfred Wong)

Roots Run Deep Winery “Educated Guess” Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, retail value $25.00

Napa Valley, California

Rich, ripe, and well-structured with flavors of blackberry and cherry, milk chocolate, and dusty notes all tied together with a toasty oak finish that in a word is...lingering. It fills all the requirements that a serious cabernet lover is looking for while remaining fun, approachable, and food-friendly! Rating: 85 pts (Wine Enthusiast)

Louis M. Martini Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, retail value $16.00

Sonoma County, California

A plethora of perfectly ripe fruit is layered in this juicy red. Cherry liqueur and toffee-mocha-oak on the nose is luxurous, while blackberry and plum surge on the palate to jam with anise and mocha intertwining with snappy dry tannins. This has an Old World profile.  Rating: 92 pts (Tasting Panel)

J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, retail value $16.00

Paso Robles, Central Coast, California

Enjoy this wine while you sauteé some mushrooms and snack on a few bruschetta as you relax and barbeque a garlic infused tri-tip roast.  Perfectly poised to grace any dinner table, this firm and well-built wine offers loads of ripe fruit and savory oak in its aroma and flavors. The wine's moderate and sweet tannins pair it well now with a well-marbled ribeye. Rating: 89 pts (Wilfred Wong/wine.com)
