At Avenue Club, we aim to honor the past as much as we strive to reinvent it
The first supper club in the US was established in the 1920s in Beverly Hills by Milwaukee native Lawrence Frank. In their heyday in the ‘50s and ‘60s, supper clubs were social hubs; comfortable places to gather and enjoy great food, drinks, and company. Traditionally supper clubs were considered a destination where patrons would spend the entire night, from cocktail hour to after-dinner ice cream drinks. We salute that supper club spirit by serving up creative variations of classic food and drinks in an updated mid-century modern setting.
Cocktail culture at The Bubble Up Bar
The Bubble Up Bar is a nod to supper club heritage, an attached swanky lounge area with dim lighting, an oversized bar, cushy bar stools, cozy horseshoe booths, and candlelight. All of the Avenue Club’s drinks are prepared at the Bubble Up Bar which features an extensive lineup of innovative cocktails that are muddled, shaken, and stirred with a little old school flair by our knowledgeable staff. Try a traditional Wisconsin-style brandy Old Fashioned made the traditional “Avenue” way, or one of the more unique cocktails like the New York Sour, South Side on the East Side, or our Tikis on Tap, a rotation of kegged tiki cocktails. We also have a number of throwback ice cream drinks to choose from made with Sassy Cow Creamery ice cream.
